Police have confirmed that officers are investigating after footage of an alleged assault in the north Shropshire area that has been circulating on social media.

West Mercia Police said that “nobody was seriously hurt” in the incident.

The video - which has been spread widely on social media - shows an alleged assault involving two school-aged children.

Police have also said that they have put in place safeguarding measures due to online safety concerns following the alleged assault.

A police spokesperson said: “We are aware of the video circulating online and an investigation has been launched into the incident.

“I can confirm that safeguarding measures have been put in place and that nobody was seriously injured during the incident.”

An officer from the North Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Team also confirmed that there was an ongoing investigation.
